CHAK DE INDIA   Leave a comment

DATE : 26TH JAN, 2011

TIME : 5 TO 7pm

VENUE : Open Cafe, JUIT Waknaghat

26th Jan 2011, the whole India geared up to celebrate its 62nd republic day..so we thought why should our college lag behind.

We rotaractors decided to do some patriotic, funfilled event to rejuvenate the spirit of “Hindustani” among the university students. The club decided to organise a fun filled event called ‘Chak De India’…It included an India quiz, an India hunt which involved diving the whole campus into various Indian cities and then performing various tasks related to Indian culture like shouting  ‘JAI HIND’  loudly,etc..The last event was a patriotic antakashri…which really raised and moved the spirit of juitians… The best thing of this event was that everything was very India inspired…Like the names of the teams of antakashri…They were named ‘uttar’,’dakshin’,’poorav’, ‘pashim’…The Hindi names of the 4 directions ..Also the campus was divided into 3 main cities of India… We designated Vivekananda statue area as ‘Srinagar’…Basketball area as ‘Mumbai’…and dhyan kaksh as ‘Delhi’…with every city there was a task associated…participants as well as the ‘rotaractors’ thoroughly enjoyed this event…and the main motive of reviving patriotic sentiments and enthusiasm among juitians was achieved..Also posters reminding us of the great revolutionary leaders like Swami Vivekananda and Subash Chandra Bose were put up in the open cafe…the success of the event could be seen with a huge crowd which participated…but for us rotaractors the main success lied in making the whole college realise the importance of Indian culture, the wonderful work done by our leaders and last but not the least the various achievements of  our nation.

It all ended up on the high notes of  ‘JAI HIND’,’SAARE JAHAN SE ACHA HINDUSTAN HAMARA’ and ‘BHARAT MATA KI JAI’.. A total celebration indeed…! 🙂
