We got pamphlets printed which had information about the jan lokpal bill. They were distributed among the public and they willingly participated in the signature campaign and showed their support. Even some foreigners took a keen interest in the happening. People were made aware of the pros and cons of the jan lokpal as well as the government draft of the same.
Around 500 people gave their signature and comments. The campaign ended with a candle lightning session which saw a participation of around 250 people. Rotractor Sarthak Agarwal packed up with his stirring speech which receives great applaud.

These kids were really excited as they got a chance to express their talents delightfully. The little kids got an extremely splendid opportunity to give wings to their imagination through their artistic talents. Games like kho-kho, ring around the roses and hide-n-seek kept the children busy and made them enjoy to the mellowest.Dancing and singing were a part of the hobby class that made the children euphoric enough to rejoice with happiness. As the hobby classes lasted for about two hours the children got a swing from their daily routine to enjoy their lives in a colourful and enthusiastic way.

The main idea behind this event is that 15th Aug-the day of our independence that had once spurred many a youngsters to plunge in the freedom struggle would once again instill a sense of nationalism and also serve the purpose of sensitizing the common man on blood donation.
All kinds of equipments like blood donation monitors, scales, syringes, streches and a well experienced team of doctors from IGMC was organised. Banners were put up displaying slogans like “GIVE BLOOD,SAVE LIFE” and “DONATE NOT FROM POCKETS,BUT VIENS”. All of us were tried to motivate people, to participate in this camp, where all the collected blood would be utilised for enriching the lives of thalassemic children of shimla.

Hues are the most vibrant sponsors of vividness. The imagination cannot be dictated. It needs a canvas. Rotaract Waknaghat took the iniative to help the imagination and the freshness of ideas, that the students brought with them as the new semester started, to blossom.
The lull of the sunday morning broke with brush strokes as the enthusiastic students drew the “change(PARIVARTAN)” as they perceived it. The participation was encouraging. Even the members participated with vigour.
Face painting competion added to the excitement. The rush of creativity filled the atmosphere. The background music brought smiles to everyone’s faces as they discovered the joy of playing with ideas and moulding them with colors for others to appreciate them.
Parivartan or Change; some love it, some regret it and others just try to adapt to it. We wish to make it happen. Rotaract Waknaghat with its first event for the new tenure of 2011-12 wishes to bring about this change for acceptance and to help people actually experience the change they wish to see. We wish to kick off with an idea to rise above, be different and take everyone along to a better world.
