Mehandi Night   1 comment

Date: 26 th February, 2011

Time: 9pm-12midnight

Venue: Geeta Bhawan

The aroma of heena makes every girl feel splendid and its fragrance elegantly graces her hands with its inherent colour. So was the feelings of the  girls of JUIT when a Mehndi Night was organised for them by The Rotaract Club of Waknaghat. The Mehndi night was a great success . It was great fun to see the young ladies enthusiastically prepare theselves to get their hands adorned with heena. The hustle-bustle of the event was beyond any explanation.

The event started at 9pm when the super excited girls started getting themselves registered for the kind of mehndi they wanted. The tuck shop of Geeta Bhawan was decorated with balloons and posters. There was an atmosphere typically created for the delight of the girls. The concept of ‘Mehndi night’ itself gives an idea of what it was all about. As the aroma of heena complimented them, the rocking music enthralled the zestful mood of the young ladies.

A total of fifty entries were registered after which we were forced to close the registration counter as the demand of mehndi was increasing beyond our expectations. Every rotaractor was busy doing her work which added an immense sense of dedication towards the club which was thereby responsible for our euphoric enjoyment. The confusions at the registration desk, the tasteful experience in the so called ‘single-room-kitchen’, the overwhelmingly joyous and ethnic dance added a tinge of zeal in every rotaractor. The festivity of the night added exuberance on the face of every girl.

The night of 26th of February came alive when our warden Maala ma’am graced it with her joyous presence. The tap of the palm complimented the rhythm of the dholak. This made the girls rejoice and break into joyful songs like ‘khud ko kya samjhti hai…’, ‘mehndi lagake rakhna…’ and many more. By the time it was 12am, we started wrapping up the things to mark an end to the successful Mehndi Night. Not only did the event give a chance to the young artists to showcase their talents in an attractive fashion but also gave an opportunity to the young ladies to feel the bliss of the fragrance of heena. It was because of the efforts of all the members of the Rotaract Club that the event was not only a successful one but was marked with great enthusiasm as well.
