Weekly Dose

Weekly dose is a letter box placed on way to Annapurna(mess), Jaypee University of information technology, by Rotaract club, Waknaghat.its similar to a common letter box, with red body and black cap. But unlike any other letter box, it had two letter hole one for the ‘person of the week’ and the other for ‘thought of the week’.

Every week a quote by famous people or some famous sayings were put up in “thought of the week” column. It stated the famous sayings and phrases that applied to daily lives of the people. As the letter box was on the way to mess, we expected most of the people to read it and hoped some of them would apply it to their lives and it would help us make a better society.

The letter hole for “person of the week” contained a paragraph about one of the famous people who brought about the change any sphere of life, or had any extraordinary achievement like Sachin Tendulkar. It was put up to encourage the youth, and also to make them aware of the great achievers of the world so that they can choose a correct role model.

When something is told again and again it surely leaves a mark. This phrase was the backbone of the idea of putting up the letter box near the mess. As people cross the mess area at least three times a day for meals, they might end up reading the thoughts put up there and it surely would leave a mark.
