ROTARACT DISTRICT CONFERENCE 2011

20th February 2011,                   PEC, Chandigarh

Eighteen members of Rotaract Waknaghat attended the annual district conference of district no. 3080 held at PEC, Chandigarh on 20^th Feb’11,  Sunday. It was an enriching experience for all rotaractors as they got the opportunity to interact with each other. Also voting for the new DRR. was done and Rotaractor Gagan Sareen, president, Rotaract Club Roorkee was selected as our new DRR for 2011-2012. The distinguished guests included     DG Rtn. Madhukar Malhotra , DRCC Rtn. Ajay Madan and DRR Rtr. Neha Chopra and others. The DG urged the rotaractors to take up the project of eradicating polio completly from our country. All rotaractors pledged to spread polio awareness among citizens and make sure that the government is working honestly towards this goal. In the conference, documentaries of various clubs were shown and the documentary of Rotaract Waknaghat was especially appreciated by the distinguished guests. Drugs enter the lives of the youth very easily and form a grip over it and ruining it. It is very important to get hold of our lives and stay away from these. To depict this very idea, Rotaract Waknaghat presented a play about the students of an engineering college who have their own little experience with drugs. It was scripted keeping in mind the youth of today so that the audience could easily identify with it. The club also won an award for the maximum number of entries in Rotasia 2011. Rtr. Ayushi Aggarwal was felicitated for being crowned as    Miss. Rotasia 2011 held at Goa in January. In all, the day was quite eventful and full of fun as along with the conference, we enjoyed our day at Chandigarh.
