Free Medical Checkup Camp

Time:  10.00 am -5.00pm

Venue: Gram Panchayat Hall, Kandaghat

Under the active participation of Dr. Jeetendra Mokta along with his team of six eminent doctors from IGMC Shimla , around 100 patients were examined  in a  ‘Free Medical Check-up camp’  organised by The Rotaract Club of Waknaghat on 17^th April 2011 at the Gram Panchayat Hall in Kandaghat. The medical camp started at 9am and lasted till 5 in the evening.

The patients in the vicinity were examined for of height, weight, waist, BMI, Sugar level and Blood pressure and then advised accordingly. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. VP Kalta, President of Rotary Shimla; Mr. Rohit Karol, Secretary of the Rotary Shimla and Mr. Atul Rastogi, President of Rotary Shimla (2009-10).  The event was also graced by the presence of Kandaghat Pradhan, Smt. Rajni Sharma. The event saw active participation of about 10 rotaractors from the club. A complimentary lunch was also organised by The Rotaract Club of Waknaghat at the PWD Guest house, Kandaghat.

In his interaction, Dr. Jeetendra Mokta extended his medical guidance on diabetes to the people. He mentioned about the risk factors of diabetes and added that regular checkups are essential since the disease is becoming more common due to increasing obesity and the failure to exercise. He also stressed on the fact that in order to check diabetes the patients need to manage their regular diet and exercise at least thrice a week.

The patients were deeply convinced with this diagnostic free medical camp and stressed to have more such camps. Thanks to all for making the Medical Camp purposeful and successful.
