VENUE: School near the Mandir, JUIT Waknaghat

Children are God’s gift! And childhood is all about innocence and liveliness. It is about happiness and freedom- The celebration of Life!!

We very often worry about what a child will become tomorrow and forget that he is someone today. On the very special occasion of Children’s Day, to celebrate the very special present of childhood and to pay homage to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for his lifelong passion for the development of children & young people, the Rotaract Club of Waknaghat organized fun-filled learning events for the children of the school near the mandir.

The celebration started off by telling these kids about Chacha Nehru who is also regarded as the country’s very special child as he was amongst those who had struggled for independence and had the opportunity to be India’s first Prime Minister of our great nation India. Though unaware of most of the things, the lads were enthusiastic to learn and to retell the facts told to them. Such quick learners!! That marked just the beginning of the celebration.

Children were also encouraged to take part in elocution competition, dance competition, solo acting competition, drawing competition etc. Such competitions help to enhance a child’s skills and talent. Unlike the normal competitions, all children received balloons and a selected few white topis.

At the end sweets were distributed to the kids. The ambience was so energetic & refreshing that everyone forgot about their age gap and danced, sang, played with these kids and all that could be felt around was happiness, love and laughter. Truly these kids showed us the seven million wonders of this life through their innocent eyes.
